چکیده

Introduction The prognosis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) in patients with positive peritoneal washing cytology (CY1) is poor. We aimed to evaluate the results staging laparoscopy (SL) and treatment efficacy CY1 based on a resectability classification. Methods retrospectively reviewed 250 PDAC who underwent SL before initial between 2017 2023 at University Toyama. Results breakdown cases by classification was resectable (R):borderline (BR):unresectable locally advanced (UR-LA) = 131:48:71 cases. frequency increased proportion degree local progression (R:BR:UR-LA 20:23:34%), but frequencies liver metastasis or dissemination were comparable 6.9:6.3:8.5%). Most received gemcitabine along nab-paclitaxel therapy. CY-negative conversion rates 70:64:52%) surgery 40:27:9%) inversely proportional progression. Comparing H0P0CY1 factors for each classification, had significantly more body tail carcinoma tumor size ≥32 mm R patients, whereas BR duke monoclonal antigen type 2 (DUPAN-2) ≥ 230 U/mL significant factor. In contrast, no observed UR-LA patients. Conclusion rates, varied according case BR, could be considered carcinoma, large size, high DUPAN-2 level. UR-LA, might all

Staging laparoscopy for gastric cancer.

The growing role of multimodal treatment plans for advanced gastric cancer has contributed to the development of more accurate preoperative staging strategies. The high diagnostic efficacy of video-laparoscopy as regards the M factor has been reported by many; preoperative laparoscopy therefore permits to avoid unhelpful surgical exploration in case of peritoneal dissemination of tumor or liver...

Cost-effectiveness of diagnostic laparoscopy for assessing resectability in pancreatic and periampullary cancer

BACKGROUND Surgical resection is the only curative treatment for pancreatic and periampullary cancer, but many patients undergo unnecessary laparotomy because tumours can be understaged by computerised tomography (CT). A recent Cochrane review found diagnostic laparoscopy can decrease unnecessary laparotomy. We compared the cost-effectiveness of diagnostic laparoscopy prior to laparotomy versus...

Assessment of EUS for diagnosing, staging, and determining resectability of pancreatic cancer: a review.

Pancreatic cancer has a dismal prognosis, but surgery offers a potential for cure in a minority of patients with localized disease. An in-depth review by Gudjonsson1 of 4100 patients with pancreatic tumor resection found a 5-year survival rate of 3.5%. More recent studies have found improved 5and 7year survival rates of 19% and 11%, respectively, in highly selected surgical patients.2 This may ...
